  • Our Provision

In our nursery, children learn and grow through purposeful play every day. Activities are planned to spark curiosity, encourage independence, and support all areas of early development. Children have access to a variety of engaging learning areas, including:

    • Maths Area: Children enjoy practical, hands-on experiences with early number, shape, pattern and problem-solving.

    • Mark-Making Area: We offer a wide range of tools and materials to support early writing, drawing and expressive communication, helping children develop important fine motor skills.

    • Small World and Role Play: Imaginative play helps children develop language, social skills and an understanding of real-life scenarios as they act out stories and ideas.

    • Creative Area: Children explore colour, texture and design through painting, collage, modelling and other creative activities that encourage expression and experimentation.

    • Sand and Water Areas: These sensory experiences help children develop early scientific and mathematical thinking, exploring concepts such as capacity, flow, measuring and cause and effect.

Outdoor learning is a key part of our nursery experience, and children spend time outside every day through all weathers.

We are very lucky to have an extensive outdoor area with a variety of areas to support the children’s learning from the classroom, but also areas to practise large skills such as climbing and digging which they will not get in the classroom.

The outdoors provides rich opportunities for:

    • Gross motor development through climbing equipment, wheeled toys and open space to move.

    • Exploring nature as children observe seasonal changes, look for wildlife and learn to care for the environment.

    • Problem solving and teamwork through activities like building, den making and group games.

    • Imaginative play in natural spaces, using loose parts, mud, water and outdoor resources to create stories and scenarios.

    • Sensory experiences as children interact with different textures, weather, light and sounds.
